Dinner, Pasta with broccolini and Coconut pound cake

For the pasta:

  • 1 lb broccolini 

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 pound favorite shaped pasta 

  • 6 tablespoons butter 

  • 12 sage leaves, rough chopped 

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Pinch red pepper flake

  • Salt, pepper and olive oil 

For the coconut cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour plus additional for dusting

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract

  • 6 oz sweetened flaked coconut
